Check out the great work our students and faculty are doing in collaboration with the community!

Recreation Therapy 学生 and Community Living

REC 33300 Recreation Therapy students and Professor Heather Pennington provided a dance program to Community Living on Friday, 4月15日, 2022. It was very well organized and well attended (25 Community Living members attended as well as 5 staff). All the participants had such a great time laughing and dancing. There were 2 students who worked all semester to coordinate the whole event and an additional 5 students attended to volunteer and help run the dance program.

健康 Communications Campaigns

PHS 35300 健康 Communications | Instructor: Dr. 艾米Estlund 学生 in this class work in group and partner with a local agency to design a health communication campaign that the agency actually implements. They meet with agency staff, discuss the needs and agree on campaign objectives, and then students research more about the problem, audience demographics and characteristics, and appropriate health behavior theories. They use this research and information to develop an implementation plan and create campaign materials. 学生 present a multi-faceted health communication campaign for the agencies to use. This project has resulted in Lindenwood student op-ed being published in a local newspaper, a student-designed billboard being posted in Lincoln County, as well as several other implementation products. We have partners with the following community agencies over the past few years: 1. Lincoln County Department of Heath 2. St. Charles County Department of Public 健康 3. 社区强烈 4. St. 路易斯地区食物银行 5. St. 查尔斯学区 6. St. Charles Center for Advanced Professional Studies 7. Lindenwood Student Counseling and Resource Center
